Our Story

"Here am I; send me." ~Isaiah 6:8

Justin and I have always had a heart for missions, even before we got married. In the fall of 2018, we started praying about an opportunity at an orphanage in Honduras. It looked like an amazing open door that God was providing for our family. We kept pursuing step-by-step, even so far as getting our kids passports and filling out an application for the mission board in February of 2019. In early April, we took steps towards serving in Honduras, but we were immediately hit with house repairs, car repairs, and an emergency appendectomy for me. We knew that this could be the enemy trying to deter us, but we also spent more time in prayer for discernment for His will.

Welcome to March 2020...looking back, I am so thankful for God's provision. We would have been in Honduras serving out our year at the orphanage during one of the HARDEST times. Covid hit and completely shut Honduras down. Through the whole thing, we kept saying that we felt God just wanted to see if we were WILLING to go. We had no idea what he was preparing us for.

God continued to show us new things and our church started a new discipleship program. Justin and I have both grown so much in our spiritual life in the last two years. When our outreach pastor, Justin Sutherland, planned a trip to the tribal reservations of Montana in the summer of 2021, we were both instantly intrigued and said that we were going! Our church went for 3 weeks and sent three different teams; we were privileged enough to be on the first team and went to Pryor, Montana to the Crow Reservation. We absolutely loved the people and especially the kids! We knew that we would be back the next summer, and we wanted to bring our kids.

Our trip summer of 2022 was much different, and we were able to spend more quality time with the missionaries there at Faith Baptist Church in Pryor. We talked about their vision for their church, and fell more in love with their people. By the end of our trip, Justin and I knew that God was doing something. Not only was he speaking to our hearts, he was confirming it through others and His word.

When we returned home in June of 2022, He had opened doors and answered so many prayers. Anytime we started to question, He reassured us that we were leading our family where He wanted us to go. We sold our house in November and rented a 2BR mobile home from a precious lady in our church. We stayed there until we moved to Pryor on April 15.

GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!

ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!

Stay tuned to see how God continues to work in Pryor.

Help in the Hard Times

On November 27, 2022, I wrote that Bro. Jared Dixon's sermon had really helped me, and then I included an excerpt from Bro. Gary Dawson's book, Gringo Mamo of the Amazon.

"I realized then, that even in the times that nothing makes sense, and we feel that grief is just going to destroy us, God is still God. He has it all under control. He is not wringing  His hands and fretting about what He is going to do. It is going to be all okay...actually, better than ok. With God, all things are going to be wonderful."
